The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for PreK-12th grade students. It offers students the opportunity to express themselves creatively in six different art categories and to receive positive recognition for original works of art.
2019-2020 Reflections program: "Look Within"
It's time to get creative and get your Reflections Entries turned in! Fill out the forms now and make sure to turn your work in before October 24th!
Reflections is a 50+ year old National program that encourages the students to explore their creativity through 6 DIFFERENT CATEGORIES:
This year we are happy to announce Reflections is GOING DIGITAL! The process for Reflections has been made simpler for students and reflection chairs.
FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO APPLY FOR THIS YEARS REFLECTIONS CONTEST:
1. Click here to Register for this years Reflection Contest (this allows us to know how many art submissions to prepare for and make sure we have adequate judges)
2. Go to the Wake County Reflections website and print out your Student Packet. Be Sure to CAREFULLY READ all final submission information so that you meet all contest requirements. We don’t want to have anyone be disqualified.
RULES TO REMEMEBER:
*Students may enter as many pieces as they would like in one or all art categories. However, Students will need a separate Student Entry Form for EVERY piece they submit for judging.
*Make sure to read the General Participation Rules, the Art Specific Rules, and fill out the Student Entry Form completely including Parent signatures, title, artist statement, and art questions.
3. SUBMIT FINAL ENTRY FORM: THIS YEAR WE ARE GOING DIGITAL!!! To make it easier and information more accurate for both Students and Reflections coordinators we are asking all Entries be submitted electronically this year. Its easy just
Submit Your Final Entry Here
to fill out your entry form information (there is an area to include digital copies of art work) and hit submit.
*You will still need to print out a copy of the form (see directions on digital form for how to do that), and have it signed by your parents (we cannot accept entries without parent signatures) and bring that as well as your physical art work to MPMS front office on the submission date OCTOBER 24th.
We realize that going digital may create some growing pains. If you prefer you may still submit a manual entry form (click here) http://www.wakepta.org/uploads/1/2/6/6/12665306/19-20-student-packet-template_2.pdf. However please print legibly or type your artist statement/entry information, since your Reflections chair will be entering any manual entries digitally to Wake County.
Our school’s winning pieces will advance to the county level, county winners will advance to state, and state winners will advance to nationals. Our school will display all participating student’s work, regardless of placement to highlight the talents and gifts of our Leopards.
